摘要:互联网的兴起,带给我们生活许多革命性的改变,也带给我们许多原本不曾拥有过的便利。有这样一个情景:看到一位女士对着化妆盒大笑,你千万别以为她在发神经,她在用化妆盒手机通过因特网看喜剧电影。正逛商店时,年轻的妈妈突然发现孩子不见了,她没有大喊大叫,而是掏出手机,屏幕上出现了孩子所在的地点。因为孩子的小鞋子上有个小牌子,通过卫星定位系统,妈妈的手机可以随时找到孩子的位置。这些产品已经在实验室里诞生了。2000年5月17日,中国电信市场三巨头:中国移动通信和中国电信、中国联通均宣布开展WAP业务,这一业务是使上面的场景走出实验室的前提——无线上网。不用电脑,只要随身带好你的手机,你将始终与世界互动。
不过现在大部分的服务还是要依靠桌上型电脑来提供,消费者希望能够将这些服务移植到一个体积小、而且重量轻且容易随身携带的设备上,从而可以随时随地的接收到讯息,且能够进一步的回应,那该有多好呢?而且老实说,不会使用电脑繁杂操作界面的人还是大多数,我们需要一个更简单、更直觉的上网设备,为所有的使用者创造一个便利的网络环境。基于WAP技术,这一梦想得以在手机上实现。
在2000年上半年,无线互联无疑是电信产业和互联网业最热的热点,以摩托罗拉、诺基亚、爱立信、西门子为首的手机制造厂商正从普通手机向WAP手机做全线的过渡;中国移动通信公司与其竞争对手中国联通宣布开通WAP服务;几乎所有的网站也都争先恐后地推出WAP服务。但是,WAP手机销售的火爆并没有真正带动起无线上网应用的兴起,调查显示,2000年我国移动电话用户已经超过了7000万,其中使用有内置上网功能手机的用户超过了15%,这15%的WAP手机用户中,申请开通WAP业务的用户尚不足1000户。是一场虚热?是概念热潮?这项技术在营销中的运用是否有其真正的价值所在?值得探讨!本论文就WAP技术从诞生初期到目前在营销中所存在的问题及其发展前景做一个粗浅探讨。

Abstract :The emergence of internet has brought many revorutionary changes to our daily life and much convenience we could never have before.Imagine the following scenes.When you see a lady laughing toward a dressing case,do not think that there must be something wrong with her.Instead,she is just watching a comedy film through the internet! When walking in a shop,a young mother suddenly finds her child missing.Instead of crying out,she takes out her mobile phone and the location of her child just appears on the screen.Owing to a small card on the child''s shoes,the young mother can easily find her child''s location at any time by means of Global Positioning System.And these products have already appeared in laboratories.In the May 17,2000,the three giants of the China telecom market, of which are China Mobile,China Telecom and China Unicom, all declare that they will develop the WAP services.Such a service has to be developed if the scenes above don''t happen only in laboratories.That is wireless surfing!As long as you carry your mobile phone, you can always interact with the outside world without a PC.
But most of the current services are still provided through desktop computers.Consumers hope that these services can be shifted to the devices which take up less room,weigh less and are more easy to carry with so that they can receive messages and then respond anytime and anywhere.How nice if such an idea comes true! To be honest,people who fail to use the complicated computer interface still make the most part of us.Thus we need a simpler and more visible surfing devices which create a more convenient network environment for us. Based on the WAP technology, this dream can be realized on mobile phones.
In the first half of year 2000,wireless interconnection undoubtedly became the biggest focus of the telecom and internet industry. Leading manufactures of mobile phones such as Motorola,Nokia,Ericcson,Siemens are in their thorough transition from normal products to WAP mobile phones. China Mobile Communication Corparation,along with its opponent China Unicom,announce putting the WAP service into effect. And nearly all the internet sites put forward their WAP service soon after. However,the huge sales of WAP mobile phones fail to essentially boost the application of wireless surfing.A survey shows that ,in 2000,the number of mobile phone users have reached beyond 70 million of which more than 15 percent use the embeded function of surfing. And of the 15 percent users, less than 1,000 have applied for the WAP service. An unreal focus? or just in concepts? Is such a technology really worthwhile in the application of market sale? All need to be further discussed. And the following essay is just a simple discussion about the problems of WAP technology in the current market sale from its birth and its development future.
