攀枝花民族中学英语教学特性分析及对策

摘 要:随着社会经济的快速发展,人民生活水平的提高,人们更加关注教育问题,由于教育的全民化,教育研究已延伸到少数民族地区.攀枝花少数民族有以彝,栗粟,苗,回为主共42个少数民族,其教育现状并不令人满意. 通过对攀枝花民族教育现状的分析可知:攀枝花的民族教育虽然取得了一定的成就,但也存在着相应的问题。通过对攀枝花民族教育前景的分析得出:要促进攀枝花民族教育的发展,可以从加强双语教育,整合教育资源,增加教育经费投入,提高教师的管理水平和素质入手,从根本上有效地促进攀枝花市民族教育的发展.

Abstract

With the rapid development of society and the improvement of people’s living standard, people pay more attention to education, especially English teaching of middle school. On account of the education of whole people, the research of education has extended to the education of ethnic minorities. Panzhihua has more than 20 ethnic minorities, such as Yi, Lisu, Miao, Hui, etc. However, the situation of English teaching of middle school of ethnic minorities in Panzhihua City is not perfect, although some achievements have been made; many problems still need to be resolved. It is crucial to maintain the sustainable education and improve quality of the whole people in Panzhihua City by means of strengthening the awareness of English learning in ethnic minorities’ areas, establishing educational system and mechanism which integrating the urban and rural areas, increasing investment of education, reinforcing teachers team building and management, etc..

Introduction

With the development of history and civilization of human being, the whole world has changed greatly. At present, the whole world has stridden forward the times of information and economic globalization. To some extent, this has promoted educational globalization. Particularly, this trend has been affecting the education in China greatly. During Chinese crucial period of reform and transformation, it is critical to pay more attention to the education and improve its quality; the education of ethnic minorities is an unavoidable topic. There are 56 groups of ethnic minorities in China, among them 20 groups located in Panzhihua City. In order to improve the whole quality of Panzhihua City, strengthening the education of ethnic minorities is a very important task. Panzhihua is an immigrant city with only 42 years history, at the beginning there were only 140 primary schools, one agricultural school, and the enrollment rate of students was very low. Based on the barren base, the special education system has been built which including elementary education, technical education, ethnic minorities’ education, adults’ education and higher education. As for the education of middle school of ethnic minorities in Panzhihua, its educational system is not perfect, especially in English teaching; it developed more stagnantly than other middle schools due to historical reasons and underdeveloped condition. Reflected on its English teaching, there are several disadvantages such as: low quality of education, lack of English teachers, poor teaching conditions, misses suitable ages of learning English, and high rate of dropping out of school, etc. How to develop the education of ethnic minorities in Panzhihua is emergent. It needs the supports from the government, only in that case the educational mechanism can be improved and the English teaching of middle school of ethnic minorities in Panzhihua City can be promoted.

English teaching of middle school in Panzhihua City is quite different from other middle schools in Sichuan Province because there are more than 20 types of ethnic minorities in Panzhihua City. Therefore, the education of middle school in Pahzhihua City has its own features which is involving in the education of ethnic minorities, that is to say, it is important to strengthen education of the middle schools of ethnic minorities for improving educational level of the whole city. But English teaching of ethnic minorities’ middle school in Panzhihua City has formed its own characteristics. To some extent, these characteristics has come into being the disadvantages for developing education of Panzhihua such as short of good teaching condition, lack of English teachers and teaching fund, etc. Moreover, the government has neglected its importance in improving quality of the whole city. If this situation is ignored by the government and people in Panzhihua City, there would be bad cycling in education of Panzhihua City. Therefore, it has become one part of crucial tasks to improve education of ethnic minorities’ middle school in Panzhihua City greatly, especially English teaching of middle school in ethnic minorities’ area. In order to achieve this goal, some important factors can not be avoided, it is involves in the government supports, related law and policy, the whole society participation and people’s efforts. As for the policy of aiding ethnic minorities’ areas education, the central government should give the priority policies involved in the fund. Only by these methods, can the goal be realized, which promotes all round quality of the whole city effectively with economic development.
