摘 要:随着改革开放和中国加入WTO以来,商务英语和商务书信的翻译在国际贸易中起着很大的作用。许多人在商务英语翻译的领域发挥着巨大的作用,比如商务英语专职人员,专业翻译员,大学教师或研究生等等。英语翻译并不是一件很容易的事情,并不是每一个会说英语的人都会翻译的很好。
如果你在外贸公司工作,就会接触到大量的与英语有关的东西。书信就跟说话一样是一种交流方式。但是,它又比说话正式得多。把自己表达得很清楚,把文件书写得很正式等是一种技能。作为商务中主要的交流工具,英语书信是双方起争议时最佳的证明。因此,商务信函的翻译必需要准确、恰当。否则它将会使国际贸易带来不便或损失。英语信函有七大特点:体贴、简洁、清晰、礼貌、正确、完整和具体。这些最基本的特征包括形式、句法和商务信函的礼仪等方面的内容。
为了确保商务英语信函翻译的准确性,翻译者必需了解商务信函的形式、语言特色和中英文商务信函的差异。

Abstract :With the open-door policy and China''s successfully joining the WTO, modern business English translation plays an important role in international trade, and the same is true of the translation of business English letters. Many people have made tremendous contribution to business English translation, such as clerks proficient in English, professional translators, college teachers or postgraduates, etc, while business English translation is not such an easy thing that not everyone who knows English can do it well.
If you work for a company which does business abroad, you probably read and write a lot of English. Writing, just like speaking, is communication, but quite formal. Expressing ourselves well and with the correct level of formality is a skill. As the main communication tools, business letters will be the very important literary proofs when disputes arise. Therefore, business letters translation must be accurate and appropriate, or it will bring great inconveniences or losses to international businesses. There are seven specific stylistic features for business English letters, which can be called the seven C''s: completeness, concreteness, clearness, conciseness, courtesy, consideration and correctness. These essential features include the morphological and syntactical features and the features of manner of speaking of business English letters.
In order to obtain good quality translation of business English letters, translators must understand the stylistic and language features of business English letters and the differences between business English letters and business Chinese letters.

Introduction

China is becoming more and more popular in the world. With the development of China, English plays a very important role in the business, especially business English letters. I am very happy China will host the 2008 summer Olympic Games. It will give us an opportunity to develop our country into a modern society. It is a good chance for the world to understand China better. It is also a good chance for the Chinese people to know the world better! Be a Chinese, I am very proud that Beijing can host the 2008 summer Olympic Games, it is a great opportunity to let the world know China! And there will be many foreigners come to china and do business with us. Business English letters can make us communicate easier.
Business letters should be short and to the point, preferably one page in length. Studies have found that busy business people do not like to read beyond the first page, and will actually delay reading longer letters. Generally speaking, the tone and content of business letters should be formal and factual. Feelings and emotion do not have a place in business letters. Carefully Plan Your Letter. Before writing the letter, take a few minutes to list all of the specific points you need to cover. Sometime it may even mean a call to the recipient or his/her company to confirm a specific point. Remember, the purpose of the letter is to tie up all of the details on the subject at hand, so that more letters won’t have to be written back and forth.

It states in detail that so as to realize its communicating functions, a good English business letter should be concise in vocabulary, courtesy and tactful in manner, fixed in format and coherent in discourse.

Think about your purpose and what requirements are mentioned or implied in the description of the task. List these requirements. This list can serve as an outline to govern your writing and help you stay focused, so try to make it thorough. Next, identify qualifications, attributes, objectives, or answers that match the requirements you have just listed. Strive to be exact and specific, avoiding vagueness, ambiguity, and platitudes. If there are industry- or field-specific concepts or terminologies that are relevant to the task at hand, use them in a manner that will convey your competence and experience. Avoid any language that your audience may not understand. Your finished piece of writing should indicate how you meet the requirements you''ve listed and answer any questions raised in the description or prompt.
