English writing teaching and practicing on different writing types

Abstract: Writing is the process of selecting, combing, arranging and developing ideas in effective sentences, paragraphs, and often, longer units of discourse. A good work should be consisted of a clear main point, logic sequence, corrected grammar and multiform sentence structures. However, lots of students find it’s really difficult to write for writing requires the complex ability that including not only the basic knowledge and skills of writing but also the cultural knowledge to some extent. Lacking of writing skills, afraid of writing, and difficulties in construction are the affections which effect students’ writing. In this essay, the author concludes these factors as psychological problems, linguistic problems, and cognitive problems. Then this essay could be generally divided into two parts, namely, the techniques of teaching writing and practices on different writing types. Besides considering the role played by teachers in teaching writing and three kinds of writing, the author also put forward some suggestions in both teaching and writing.
